May's Toolbox Column in MSDN

My fifth Toolbox column in the March 2006 issue of MSDN Magazine is now available online. The article covers the following three products:

  • Express Agent, a tool for adding job support for Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition and MSDE
  • BrowserHawk, which provides in-depth browser capabilities detection and logging
  • UltimateSearch, an ASP.NET site search engine

There was no book review for this issue. You can keep abreast of the latest Toolbox articles through the column's RSS feed or the Toolbox column category here on my blog.

Wiennat, yes, there's a typo in my blog entry, it should read "in the **May** 2006 issue".

Vishal, the first 10 or so of the 2.0 data tutorials should hopefully be published on MSDN and/or www.asp.net by the end of May at the absolute latest.

Thanks

Are you planning to release a version 2
of your book Asp.net Data Webcontrols ?

Vishal, I wasn't planning on a v2 of the Data Web Controls Kick Start book, no. This tutorial series for Microsoft, though, really is like an entire book, though, it will likely have a multi-hundred page count (200-400, I'd wager). Plus, a nice feature of these tutorials is that they'll be separate but equal VB and C# versions (whereas my Data Web Controls Kick Start book had a mix of the two languages interspersed throughout the book).
